Obituary: Dr. Jonathan Tennant (1988-2020)

It is sad to report of the death of one of our PEERE friends and colleagues Dr Jonathan (Jon) Tennant due to a tragic fatality in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia, on the 9th April 2020. Jon has contributed to the success of two important events of the PEERE community in 2018. He inspired a class of participants during a summer school in Split in 2018, stimulated debate on innovations in peer review, and participated to the first PEERE International Conference on Peer Review in Rome in 2018, presenting, commenting and discussing other contributions. He has left an indelible mark to our community by advocating open science and transparency in the scholarly communication and criticising status-quo. We will always remember his energy and audacity. On behalf of the whole PEERE community, we express our most heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this terrible times.
